Born and raised in a Sunni Muslim family in Baghdad, Iraq, Wissam rejected Islam and turned to atheism in the mid 1990’s. He found a copy of the Bible in 1997, believed in 1998, and searched for another twelve years for someone to baptize him into Christ in May 2010. A graduate of the University of Baghdad, he worked for eight years as a civil engineer. He graduated from Sunset International Bible Institute in 2013. Upon graduation he moved to metro Detroit, MI where he is a minister for the Sunset church of Christ. He has developed his own Bible-based curriculum to teach English to the Arab refugees.
